Artist statement

The main theme of my work is an exploration and perception of home. It’s both the physical home where I grew up and spent my childhood, the walls I miss and where I strive to come back, and the inner feeling of home, the metaphorical and mobile space that travels with me wherever I go. It is my sacred space that gives me a sense of support, belonging, and peace.

I convey these sensations through oil painting, documentary photography, and choral music. My goal is to share with the viewer the harmony and beauty that I feel in the world and that I try to recreate in all of my homes, to demonstrate the significance of intergenerational connections within a family, and the importance of having and creating a sense of home. I believe this is one of the key themes in contemporary art in the context of global migrations and wars of our time.
